Forest does not send your photos, or any information about them, to us or to anyone else. There is no server to send them to. All of the organising Forest does happens on your iPhone.
When you first open Forest, iOS asks whether to grant access to your photo library. Forest uses this access only to read your photos so it can group them by date and help you sort them. Forest never uploads, copies off your device, or transmits your photos.
Photos you “bin” in Forest are staged inside the app; they are not removed from your library until you choose to empty the bin and confirm Apple’s system deletion prompt. Deleted photos then move to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where iOS keeps them recoverable for 30 days. Photos you save to your album are added to a “Forest Album” in your own Photos app.
Your sorting decisions, album tags, and progress are stored only on your device. This information stays on your phone and is never sent to us or anyone else. Removing the app removes this data.
Forest contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party software development kits. We do not build a profile of you, and there is nothing to opt out of.
Because Forest has no server and makes no network requests with your data, Hoopy Labs does not collect, store, or have access to any personal information about you or your photos.
Forest does not collect data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
